Northumberland Public Library to Loan Desktop Reading Magnifier

IMG_2545.jpg

Patrons of the Northumberland Public Library with impaired vision can borrow a desktop reading magnifier for up to one month. Library Director Alice Cooper said the library will provide a home visit to set up and demonstrate how to use the equipment if a patron asks.

The magnifier consists of a 19-inch television screen and a reader, which resembles an overhead projector. Books, magazines or other reading materials are placed on the reader. The user can zoom in and focus on the desired paragraph or column to be enlarged. The material is then projected onto the television.

For more information on borrowing the equipment contact Alice Cooper at 580-5051.
