Summer is nearly over, but there is still time to help the Wildbunch Animal Refuge and Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw. A special collection box – the Wildbunch Donation House – has been set up inside the entrance to the Northumberland Public Library in Heathsville for donations.
The Wildbunch Donation House is a community service project being held during the library’s Summer Reading Program, “Every Hero Has A Story.” The Summer Reading Program ends in late August, but there is still time to help out. The requested items will be given to the animal refuge sometime in early September.
Anyone may donate needed items to the animal shelter, said Jan Bates, the library’s Coordinator of Children’s Programs. “The need is still there,” she said.
Items that are needed include:
Dry or small cans of small breed dog or puppy
food
Dry or Canned Cat Food (no seafood)
Bird Seed
Plain Cheerios
Plain boxed oatmeal or grits
Wheat germ
Stage 1 & 2 Baby food – chicken, vegetables
The library is located at 7204 Northumberland Highway, Heathsville, VA 22473, telephone (804) 580-5051. Donations may be dropped off at any time during the library’s normal operating hours Monday through Saturday.
