Library Event Will Honor Longtime Employee Betty Dunaway

An open house at the Northumberland Public Library June 12 will honor longtime library employee Betty Dunaway for more than 30 years of dedicated service.

The free event, from 1-4:30 p.m., will include punch and cookies and is open to the public. It will give library patrons an opportunity to show their appreciation for her service. They will be able to sign a special Guest Book that will be presented to the dedicated library employee. June 12 is Dunaway’s last day of full-time employment, according to Library Director Alice Cooper.

She has been dedicated to the library for over 30 years and we will miss her,” Cooper said. But Dunaway “intends to continue to spend some time with us” on a part-time basis.

I’ve enjoyed being here and I’ve learned a lot, met some nice people,” Dunaway said.

The library is located at 7204 Northumberland Highway, Heathsville, VA 22473. Questions? Call the library at (804) 580-5051 for more information.
