If you’d like to make a difference, here’s a chance to help: join the Northumberland Public Library’s Board of Trustees.
“We are looking for diversity, commitment and a love of the library,” said Board of Trustees President Eve Jordan.
The Board of Trustees meets every other month, or six times a year, Jordan said. The Board is responsible for the direction of the library and performs a vital role in the library’s operations.
Potential Board of Trustees members will be voted on at the July 8, 2015 meeting. Board meetings are open to the public, so you could attend one to get an idea of what to expect if you volunteer and are voted in. The next Board of Trustees meeting is May 13 at 5 p.m. in the library’s Meeting Room. You also can contact Jordan via email at email@example.com if you’d like to be a Board of Trustees member or have questions about serving.
